Mission
Our lab investigates how individual differences in stress reactivity contribute to the course of psychopathology. Using multimodal psychophysiological and neuroimaging methods, we study the neural and physiological mechanisms linking brain function to behavior under stress. By integrating neuroimaging, psychophysiology, clinical interviews, hormonal assessments, and clinical biomarkers, our work aims to develop a multilayered neurobiological model of stress reactivity.
Vision
Our research conceptualizes stress reactivity as a transdiagnostic process underlying maladaptive coping and a range of psychiatric conditions, including posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), alcohol use disorder (AUD), and fear-based anxiety disorders. This model aims to predict disorder onset, symptom change, and treatment response.
